Family Respite Services has developed a partnership with the Town of LaSalle at the new Vollmer Recreation Complex.  FRS is providing support staff to assist youth with disabilities to participate in a Friday evening program.  The youth have fun swimming, working on crafts and participating in the programs at the Complex such as teen dances.  Youth with disabilities, their siblings and youth from the community are welcome.  A grant from the Green Shield Social Surplus Fund has made it possible to provide the staffing support.

FRS, works in partnership with the Parks and Recreation departments in Essex and LaSalle to offer support for a Friday night recreation program.  The purpose of these programs is to provide a fun evening for the youth, while offering some respite time to the family.  The Parks and Recreation staff run the program and FRS provides support staff to enable the youth to participate in the program. 

• Currently we offer one Friday each month from 6 to 9 at the Essex Recreation Center.
