Respite Provider since: 2010 Field of study: – Child and Youth Worker graduate

How did you get interested in working with kids?

I became interested in working with children when I was 18 years old, when I became a volunteer wrestling coach. Through working with the children on the wrestling team and talking with friends and family I decided to go to college and take the child and youth worker program.

How did you get interested working with kids?

I guess I became interested in working with children somewhat naturally. I am one of five children and have several cousins that I grew up with so I was always helping my mom and aunt to take care of everybody. One of my cousins, Daniel is the same age as me and is affected by autism. From a young age we were taught to respect, accept and love him and many times found ourselves advocating for him on the playground.
