Our Time Programs at College Ave. and Forest Glade Affected by City Labour Dispute

Forest Glade Community Centre

Two of the Our Time programs supported by Family Respite Services are held at City of Windsor Community Centres.  These centres are affected by the current labour dispute between CUPE and the City of Windosr.  Unfortunately, CUPE Local 543 representing the City of Windsor inside workers and CUPE Local 82 representing outside workers are both on strike.  This means that the Windsor Parks and Recreation leisure services are temporarily affected.

The staff that support the children with disabilities are the employees of Family Respite Services and they are not members of this union.  However, the staff that lead the activities and provide the facility for the program are City of Windsor employees.

Therefore, until this labour dispute is resolved, the Our Time program at the College Ave. Community Centre and the Forest Glade Community Centre will be cancelled.

The programs at the Vollmer Centre in LaSalle and the Leamington Kinsmen Recreation Centre are NOT affected.

We regret this inconvenience for families. If the strike continues for a prolonged period the Family Coordinator or the Our Time Coordinator will be in touch with your family to plan with you.

Stay tuned to the Windsor Media for further updates about the labour dispute.
