FRS, works in partnership with the Parks and Recreation departments in Essex and LaSalle to offer support for a Friday night recreation program. The purpose of these programs is to provide a fun evening for the youth, while offering some respite time to the family. The Parks and Recreation staff run the program and FRS provides support staff to enable the youth to participate in the program.
- Currently we offer one Friday each month from 6 to 9 at the Essex Recreation Center.
- In October we will begin a Friday night program at the Vollmer Recreation Complex Centre in LaSalle.
- Families pay a registration fee for the program.
- Access to the program is limited and must be arranged through the Family Coordinator at FRS, as a part of the overall respite service that we offer.
FRS is very thankful to Green Shield for their generous donation in 2008 to assist us to pay for the support workers.
